Short Bio
Rosalie Arcala Hall, Ph.D. is Professor of Political Science and Scientist III at the University of the Philippines Visayas. She earned her Masters and PhD from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA on a Fulbright-Hayes scholarship. She held visiting researcher appointments at Meiji University, University of Innsbruck, Center for Strategic and International Studies (Indonesia), East West Center (Washington DC), University of Vienna, Australian National University, and Dartmouth College. She was involved in research projects on disaster management, water governance, and civil-military relations with grants from The Nippon Foundation, Toyota Foundation, Austrian Exchange Program, Asia Foundation, Australian National University among others. She is author/co-author of over 30 journal articles and book chapters, including her latest co-edited volumes Pathways for Irregular Forces in Southeast Asia (Routledge, 2022), Military Operation and Engagement in the Domestic Jurisdiction (Brill, 2022) and Lockdown and Lowdown: The Politics of COVID-19 Pandemic Response in the Philippines (Ateneo de Manila University Press, 2023). She is a member of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education Technical Committee on Political Science and past President of the Philippine Political Science Association.
