Financial Assistance

TSE offers competitive scholarships, in the forms of full fellowship, including full tuition waiver and teaching/research assistantship, or half scholarship, including full tuition waiver, each year to outstanding incoming Master and PhD students. 

► TSE scholarships

Full scholarship
Full tuition waiver and teaching/research assistantship, which carries a monthly stipend of NT$18,000 (equivalent to US$7,200 per year)  / NT$9,000 (equivalent to US$3,600 per year) / other, and no more than 15 hours of work each week. The amount of the monthly stipend may be subject to each recipient's scholarship agreement.

Full tuition waiver

How to apply?

You do not have to apply for the TSE scholarships nor submit a separate application. All applicants of the admission year will be automatically considered for the scholarships based on their academic performance. Applicants with outstanding academic performance will be awarded TSE full or half scholarships, which are offered on an annually renewable basis. The selected applicants will be notified of their awards by the admission letter, or by a separate scholarship award letter.

► MOE scholarship

The application is open around early February every year. (link)

► NSTC Graduate Research Fellowship (NSTC-GRF) Pilot Program
  • Monthly stipend of NT$40,000 for a period of up to 3 years, starting from the first year of the Ph.D. program.
  • For September 2025 enrollment as PhD first-year student
