International Application

How to apply

Single Application for both Admissions & Scholarship with just ONE CLICK!

For international application, please enter the TSE Online Application System and register an account. Follow the instructions to fill in the application form and upload your supporting documents as requested. No application fee will be charged. Once we have received your application and all the required documents, we will send a confirmation letter by email to you.

2. One copy of your Bachelor's and Master's degree Diploma (Ph.D. Application).

  • One Curriculum Vitae (in English): No specific format is required.
  • MA thesis or other written works

Which should describe succinctly your reasons for applying to the proposed program at TSE, your preparation for this field of study, study interests, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests.

  • 1-3 pages for Master's Application
  • no page limits for Ph.D. Application
Which should be written in English, and be submitted on letter-headed paper if possible. It would also be helpful if the referees could include in their references the following information:

  • Their name, position, and institution.
  • Length of time and capacity in which they have known the applicant.
  • Academic ability of the applicant.
  • Their assessment of the applicant’s potential or ability to undertake the program applied for.
  • Any further relevant information.
You must demonstrate a satisfactory English language proficiency level by fulfilling ONE of the following requirements :

  • If you are from countries where English is the official language, please provide a copy of your passport. [The list of nations with English as the official or common language]
  • If you have completed your previous degree in an English-speaking country, please provide a copy of your diploma of the previous degree. [The list of nations with English as the official or common language]
  • If your previous degree was entirely taught in English, please upload an official letter from the institution confirming English was the sole medium of instruction and assessment.
  • You earned one or more of the following subsection scores :
    • IELTS 6.5, usually with 6.0 or above in each element
    • TOEFL iBT 92, with 21 above in each element
    • Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 180, with no component below 170
    • Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE): 180, with no component below 170
Applicants may submit any supporting documents, such as GRE score, GMAT score, school club participation, competition, student leadership, etc.
All applicants are required to provide either an official English bank statement or proof of scholarship that shows their financial sustainability for study in Taiwan. Applicants also need to download the “Certification of Financial Responsibility” and submit it online. The bank statement(s) should be dated within the last 3 months from a financial institution. If the currency is not in TWD or USD, please note the exchange rate and conversion of the total amount in TWD or USD. If the bank account is from their sponsor to satisfy this financial obligation, then their sponsor must provide a statement declaring your relationship to the applicant and their intent to provide financial support throughout their period of study.

Print the declaration form and after reviewing the form, please sign at the bottom of the form. If applicable, we may ask the applicant to submit a copy of the “Forfeited Nationality Permit Certificate,” “Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates” issued by MOI and a signed “Non-Household Registration Declaration.”

* Admitted list :
Admitted list will be posted on the TSE website and the Office of Global Affairs website . Admission decisions will be sent through email. 

** Notarized diploma and transcript :
Admitted students with foreign academic credentials must submit the original diploma and full transcript notarized by the Taiwan Overseas Representative Offices in the country of the school on the registration day in September, 2024 to become eligible to register at NTHU. If the required documents are not received by the deadline, NTHU reserves the right to revoke your admission. If the foreign academic credentials (diploma and transcript) are not in Chinese or English, the Chinese or the English translations are also required to be notarized by the Taiwan Overseas Representative Offices. Documents (diploma and transcript) issued by the university in Taiwan do not need to be notarized. For more details, please refer to the MOE website .

How to apply

For overseas Chinese application, please apply via the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Student.

Graduate Exchange

How to apply

For graduate exchange, please apply via the Office of Global Affairs 

Department Transfer

  1. Application Time: From mid-May to early June each year. (See NTHU academic calendar for details). The deadline for the Academic Year 2026 is June 10, 2026.
  2. Process:
    1. Please go to the Academic Information Systems to fill in the application form and print it out. (https://www.ccxp.nthu.edu.tw/ccxp/INQUIRE/)
    2. For graduate students: Bring the application form to your original department/institute. The application form should be duly signed by the Chair and the advising professor.
    3. At the same time, you must submit a soft copy of the transfer application form and review materials to the TSE admission email(tse.pg@my.nthu.edu.tw), subject: Transfer Application - Student ID - Name.
    4. The application forms shall be sent to the Division of Registration before June 10, 2026. The required application packets shall be sent to the intended department’s/institute’s office before the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.
    5. The result will be released before the beginning of August on the website of the Division of Registration.
    6. Please note that other matters will be announced on the website of the Division of Registration.
