Abstract
This course explores fundamental aspects of economic growth and development through detailed case studies. It focuses on understanding the mechanisms that drive economic prosperity across different nations and eras. Key topics likely include the role of technological advancements, government policies, resource allocation, and productivity enhancements in shaping economic outcomes. This course draws on some extensive research on growth dynamics, providing students with insights into how various factors contribute to the wealth of nations in a contemporary global context.

Abstract
This course is devoted to selected development economics topics from dynamic and global perspectives. It begins by highlighting important empirical facts concerning growth and development in various countries at different development stages. Fundamental growth and development theory are then delivered to provide an outline of utilized methodology to explain empirical facts and to evaluate the consequences of commonly adopted development policies systematically. Topics include (i) technological changes and industrial transformation, (ii) skills, health and labor market development, (iii) demographic transition, (iv) inequality, (v) institutions and poverty problems, and (vi) political economy and global development. Cross-country empirical evidence and country case studies will be provided throughout the lectures. The primary purpose of this course is to help you strengthen the fundamentals of conducting research in these areas.
